Medical Pedagogical Councelling Service
Prim. dr Ljiljana
Milosavljević, Ms. Katarina Radovanović, psychologist, and Prof. dr Ksenija
Kondić spoke about the beginnings of the Medical Pedagogical Councelling
Service. That consultancy was the only one of that type in this part of Europe. Experts of various types worked in it:
psychiatrists, psychologists, pedagogists, social workers. Children play
therapy was started there, psychological tests and techniques were introduced,
as well as cathegorization, students and experts training. Consultancy was
closed down in 1963, and experts that had worked in it were rellocated to other
institutions of similar type. However, the idea of such consultancy remained
alive, its spirit was nourished and enabled further development of child
psychotherapy. Dr Milosavljević and psychologist Radovanović, his first
associates, described Prof. Matić as the manager, teacher and friend,
using warm and touching words. Mladen Kostić, psychologist offered his
contribution to the discussion, and spoke about Prof. Matić as a unique and
charismatic figure of psychological scene of those times, as the teacher and
inspirer of many later generations.
